Letters from The Mayor: September 10, 2010

Dear Resident,

As your water service provider we would like to provide you information in regards to Fire Protection while our Water Tower is undergoing a complete rehabilitation. During this project the Borough’s water storage capacity is significantly below normal levels. In anticipation of this reduced storage capacity during the renovation project, the Borough and the Woolwich Fire Company implemented an action plan to provide fire service without jeopardizing the drinking water supply for the Borough’s customers. Through increasing available water trucks in conjunction with existing mutual aid agreements with neighboring fire companies, the Woolwich Fire Chief and County Fire Marshal have assured us that fire protection service will not be negatively impacted.

During the weekend of August 28th, the action plan was implemented to fight a residential fire on Olympia Court. Fire service was provided in a timely and efficient manner and fortunately no one was injured.

Please be advised that your safety and the safety or our neighbors are of utmost importance to the Borough of Swedesboro and to the Fire Company.

If you need additional information, please contact Tanya Goodwin at 856.467.0202 or by e-mail at tgoodwin@swedesboro.comcastbiz.net.

Very truly yours,
Thomas Fromm
Mayor
