Senate President Sweeney to Host Discussion on School Funding at Kingsway – 7/13 at 6pm

Dear School Community,

Our school community spoke loudly this past year and demanded that the State of New Jersey return our tax dollars and fund our schools fairly. Our fight was one for the record book and even came with a State Budget shutdown to extend the drama a little longer. As a result, Kingsway, and our constituent elementary schools, will receive additional school aid for the 2017-18 school year. As helpful as this will be this year, it still falls woefully short of what is rightfully ours. So, what’s next? The Senate President will host a community information session at Kingsway on Thursday, July 13th, at 6:00 pm. Please come out to learn more about the future of school funding and how it will impact our schools, property taxes and communities-at-large. This is the time to come out and ask tough questions of your State representative and find out firsthand what’s next in this tortured school funding saga.
