Carney’s Point Man Charged in Swedesboro Burglaries

The Borough of Swedesboro would like to thank the Woolwich Township Police Department and all cooperating agencies for their efforts in resolving a series of burglaries in Swedesboro.  A Carney’s Point resident was arrested and has been indicted for three counts of burglary, three counts of theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property (more information can be found in the following article: http://www.nj.com/gloucester-county/index.ssf/2014/01/gloucester_county_grand_jury_indicts_27_lots_of_cds_charges_some_assaults.html#incart_river, via the South Jersey Times.)

As a reminder, residents should be sure to lock doors and windows on their homes and vehicles to prevent unauthorized entry.  When planning to be away from home for an extended period of time (such as a vacation), contact the post office to place a hold on mail delivery, and ask the police to do periodic property checks.  For more helpful tips on guarding against theft, please check out the following link:  http://realestate.msn.com/article.aspx?cp-documentid=23325335.
