Crime Report – October

A 32 year old Clayton man was arrested on outstandingwarrants and possession of marijuana after being stopped on High Hill Road for walking in the roadway.

A construction company working at an Auburn Road construction site reported that someone broke into their utility trailer and stole numerous power tools.

A 36 year old Sicklerville man was arrested for striking a Mullica Hill man in the face with a closed fist during a dispute on Regals Court.

A 23 year old Ocean City man was arrested for DWI and possession of marijuana, after crashing into a yield sign while navigating around the circle located at Kings Highway and Center Square Road.  

A 21 year old Woolwich man was arrested on outstanding warrants and possession of marijuana, during the course of an investigation on Kings Highway.    

A 21 year old Brick Township man was arrested for possession of marijuana after a drug investigation on Broad Street.

A 19 year old Woolwich man was arrested for possession of cocaine during the course of an investigation on Paulsboro Road.

A 25 year old Woolwich man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after being stopped on Woodstown Road.

Beazer Homes reported the theft of 2 air-conditioning units from new a construction on Auburn Road.

Unknown suspects vandalized numerous pieces of playground equipment at Locke Avenue Park. 

A Quinton Court resident reported their vehicle was burglarized after being left unlocked overnight. The theft yielded multiple pieces of identification, A Coach purse and approximately $800.00 in US Currency.
 
A 44 year old Philadelphia man attempted to pass a fraudulent $100.00 bill at the WAWA located on Paulsboro Road. He was subsequently arrested and charged after a cooperative investigation with a neighboring police department. 
 
A Kingsway High School student was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana on school property, subsequent to a CDS investigation at the athletic fields.
 
A Yorktown Road resident reported a bicycle stolen from their garage overnight. The bicycle is described as a 20′ Diamondback mountain bike, burgundy in color with white iPod dock on the handle bars.
 
A vehicle was reported stolen after being taken, without force, at the intersection of Kings Highway and Church Street. Subsequent investigations led to the vehicle being recovered a short time later on Viereck Road. Charges are pending for the suspect, a juvenile Swedesboro resident. 
 
A Helms Avenue resident reported a day time burglary to their residence. The unknown suspect(s) entered through a window and targeted jewelry and credit cards.
 
A Kings Highway resident reported a Poulan snow blower stolen from the rear of their residence.
 
A Second Street resident reported a Craftsman leaf blower stolen from their pick-up truck while parked in the driveway.

 NOTICE AND ADVERTISEMENT TO BIDDERS

Notice is hereby given that the Borough of Swedesboro will receive bids for the “SANITARY SEWER REPAIR AT RACOON CREEK – REBIDin the Borough of Swedesboro, County of Gloucester, NJ.  Each bid shall remained sealed, to be opened and read at the Borough of Swedesboro Municipal Building, 1500 Kings Highway, Swedesboro, NJ, on Wednesday October 15, 2014 at 10 a.m. prevailing time. All bids shall be presented to the Borough Clerk before this time.

The proposed work includes the following items:

  • REPAIR OF SANITARY SEWER FORCE MAIN ON BRIDGE AT RACOON CREEK 

Specifications and Proposal Forms may be secured by prospective bidders during business hours (7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday; 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday) at the office of the Borough Engineer, Federici & Akin, P.A., 307 Greentree Road, Sewell, New Jersey.  Upon payment of $50.00; and can be obtained up to 48 hours prior to the time set for the opening of the bids.  No refund shall be made for the return of these documents. All technical questions are to be directed to Federici & Akin, P.A., 307 Greentree Road, Sewell, New Jersey 08080 by fax 856-582-7976.

Each proposal bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, of which, the amount of the bond or certified check need not exceed $20,000, made payable to the Borough of Swedesboro. 

Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 (Affirmative Action), P.L. 1963. C150 (New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act), and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. 12101, et. seq).  and P.L. 1977, c. 33, and submit a Disclosure Statement listing Stockholders with his bid.

Bidders must comply with P.L. 1999 c. 238 Public Works Contractor Registration Act.  Bidder and subcontractors must be registered in accordance with this act.  Bidders must comply with P.L. 2004 c. 57 and submit proof of a New Jersey Business Registration Certificate and submit proof of business registration for any named subcontractors in accordance with the act.  This contract is subject to the provisions of the New Jersey Public Contracts Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq.

Bids must be prepared on the standard proposal forms provided, in the manner designated therein.  Each bid must be enclosed in a sealed envelope, bearing the name and address of the bidder, and labeled sANITARY SEWER REPAIR AT RACOON CREEK – Rebid” and shall be addressed to the Swedesboro Borough Clerk

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and/ or all bids, to waive any informality, or to accept the bid, which in its judgment, best serves the interest of the Owner.
