Pig Roast Scheduled to Benefit Trinity Preservation

Trinity “Old Swedes” Historic Preservation Foundation is holding a pig roast fundraiser on Sunday November 3rd (from 3:30 to 5:30) at Rode’s Barn.

The benefit is for the Trinity “Old Swedes” Historic Preservation Foundation which restores and maintains the Trinity Church Historic site and Swedish Log Cabin and provides educational programs for the fourth graders in the local school district.

The Foundation has huge expenses maintaining the site along Kings Highway and at the entrance to town. This is one of the 2 main fundraisers.

Time 3:30-5:30 Eat in or Take Out at Rode’s Barn (Located behind Rode’s Fireside).  Cost $16.00 Adult, Children $11 (10 and under).

Celebrate Trees!

On Thursday, October 24th, the Shade Tree Commission presented a children’s educational program at the Swedesboro branch of the Gloucester County Library.  As the clocked chimed 7p.m., things were all set up ready for the five kids who were signed up.  To our pleasure, we ended up hosting a group of 17 children!  As a result, the evening was not only about celebrating trees, but about kindness- since we only had 15 bags, two sets of siblings demonstrated the true meaning of sharing. Local Business Spotlight: Sweetsboro Pastry Shoppe

The cozy little bakery occupies one half of a historic duplex along downtown Kings Highway.  A joyful, chubby cheeked chef adorns the windows of the bakery, welcoming visitors as they’re greeted with the sugary aroma of freshly baked treats.  Just as the name implies, the glass display cases inside Sweetsboro Pastry Shoppe are filled with a mesmerizing array of goodies.
